Why God created Boredom?
By :DD, DD
It is not the God who created boredom. It is the Boredom which created the God. In ancient times, when people had nothing worthwhile to do, they created God as a good TIMEPASS. Since then, people with lot of time to spare and nothing to do, spend their time by remembering God, singing his praises, writing and reading books on God, giving or attending to discourses and what not. The level of interest a person has in God shows what is doing at present if anything at all. But, undoubtedly, it is the best tool to kill old age boredom.
If that would have true then the people who did not believe in God would have never bored. Yet we can see that it is the materlistic people who get bored more and need methods to fight boredom. All material pleasures are only momentary and last fr few moments. Hence the craving of the person to have that pelasure need more material things in life. Yet every material thing has a cost and at some point of time the person knows that he can not effort it. It is at that time the boredom fills his life which he tries to remove by intoxicants and drugs.
Only if one uses boredom as the signal of self-realisation, he can discover the true cause of his boredom and the true reason of his being.
This , in my opinion, is the only way to eliminate boredom from life.

I have always told me children that boredom comes from lack of self-interest. My solution is to do something for someone else. Walk a dog for an elderly person, visit the sick, help a child with homework, go to the store for someone. It goes on and on. There are thousands of things to do and keep your interest if you get away from your own self-interest that can occassionaly run dry. And yes, this is my opinion. But it works.
