The Five Benefits of Being Spiritual
  By : Awdhesh Singh

Spiritually is a state of being non-materialistic. A spiritual person does not assess his success from the material achievements or physical possessions. A material person always has measurable things to prove his success. For example, he may measure his power or wealth to state his satisfaction level and state his achievements. He believes is that if anyone gets a particular amount of money or success, he ought to be happy. Hence he accomplishes his mission and then expects the happiness to come to him automatically.

Sadly, it does not happen. Most people are not happy even after achievement everything what they thought would bring them happiness. The achievement of wealth or power merely changes the nature of the worry or problem. A rich person may not have to worry about food, shelter, clothing or comforts but he has another set of worries. A powerful person is also worried in a different manner than a powerless person.

A spiritual person does not rely upon any material accomplishment to get happiness as he believes in the satisfaction of the soul rather than the satisfaction of the body. The benefits to the spiritual man are as following.

1. Peace

There are limitations of all material things but there is no limitation of spiritual reality. You do not take anything away from anyone by being more spiritual while you have to take something from someone to become richer. Hence a spiritual person has no conflict with anyone. He does not fear anyone since he has nothing which can be stolen or taken away.

2. Happiness

A spiritual person believes that the source of happiness is inside. Hence he has nothing to search outside. He instead looks inside and find out what he needs and what makes him happy. He may become happy by simply listening to good music or helping others rather than staying in a five –star hotel. Hence he is always happy since he does not have to look happiness outside.

3. Health

A spiritual person does not seek happiness from the physical pleasures. He does not care much about the pleasures of the body. It means that his food habits are simple and his body is quite disciplined. This leads to good health of the spiritual person. He maintainers the healthy weight and he is free from all diseases.

4. Wisdom

While most people try to understand the people by treating them as individuals, they find them all different. A spiritual person however, finds that every human being is part of the same God and spark of the same soul. Hence he can easily connect to the soul of any individual and develop trust and faith instantly. Hence even those people who are otherwise evil to others behave like saint when dealing with a spiritual person.

5. Respect

A spiritual person transforms himself from an ordinary human being to a divine being having least physical needs. Such a person becomes an epitome of humanity as he lives for others. He is widely respected end even revered by his adversaries. People trust him and follow his words since they treat him with lots of respect. Thus a spiritual person becomes powerful by ruling the souls.

It is lot more beneficial to be a spiritual person since only a spiritual person can live a happy and healthy life. The life of a passionate and material person is filled with lots of ups and down. He has few friends but many enemies who also desire to gain his wealth and success. A spiritual person is free from all the competition and conflict of this world and lives happily.
